Cultural Activities

The seminary formation is filled with many cultural activities. These activities which begin from the start of the academic year continues till the end. The cultural activities in the seminary are linked with either the catholic feasts, national observances or local customs. Various events of different stature are presented by the seminarians as a part of cultural activities. The Feast of Dukrana of St. Thomas marks the beginning of the cultural activities in the seminary. The deacon’s drama conducted on the occasion adds colour to the same. The feast of St. John Maria Vianney is another occasion where the cultural talents of the seminarians are exhibited. The independence day is celebrated by the seminary in an auspicious manner. The hoisting of the national flag and the patriotic speeches and pledge. The Onam celebration, the identity of the Keralites is celebrated in the seminary in the vivid manner. The celebration is filled with the games, songs and other festivities.

The Home celebration which commemorates the sweet memories of the seminary that we are part off provides the occasion for a cultural treat from the part of the Benjamin’s of the celebration. Another event that refreshes the mind of the seminarians and at the core presents the diverse cultures is the music night. This is also an event that brings out the musical talents of the priests and seminarians. The month of December marks the birth of Jesus, our Lord and Saviour. The cultural celebrations of the seminary in relation to the Christmas begins with the lighting of the star and continues till brothers’ return to their homes. The celebration includes a cultural fiesta by the philosophers, Christmas celebrations, messages, gift exchanges, fire works etc. The republic day of India also marks an important cultural celebration in the seminary.
